Toyota Motor PH says all-new Vios coming very soon with hybrid
Toyota Motor Philippines is finally bringing in the fourth-generation Vios to the country

On the first day of the -BER month, Toyota Motor Philippines has finally given what the general motoring public has long been waiting for.
The fourth-generation Vios is “coming very soon”, says the manufacturer on its official social media page. But wait, there’s more. The hybrid version that premiered recently in Thailand? That’s also on its way to the country as Toyota included the hashtags #BeyondZero in its post.

Hold on, there’s a bit more to that. What’s really worth noting is that Toyota chose to color several letters in the “Achieve The ElectrifIed Vision” slogan in blue – specifically, the letters A,T,I, and V. For those who know their Toyotas well, the Vios is called the Yaris Ativ in other markets, which stands to think that once the new model arrives here, we might be calling it as the Vios Ativ.
That could separate the fourth-generation model from the current one that’s being sold in the Philippine market, in the same way that Toyota calls the new unibody Innova as the Zenix to separate it from the ladder-framed diesel Innova.

The fourth-generation Vios Ativ is underpinned by the Daihatsu New Global Architecture platform, and its electrified version has a powerplant shared with the Yaris Cross – the 2NR-VEX that puts out 111 PS, but more importantly, promises a fuel efficiency of up to 29.4 km/l.
With that being the case, will we see the current Vios and the all-new Vios Ativ co-exist in the local Toyota lineup? Well, one thing’s for sure – TMP won’t be making us wait longer to know the answers to that.
