Tiggo 5X leads Chery PH 8% sales growth in first half of 2023
Despite industry sales dipping 5% last June, Chery bucked the trend with an 18% sales increase last June

Chery Auto Philippines is on a roll. After achieving a 51% sales increase last May 2023 with 323 units sold, the automaker was able to sell more units last June 2023.
From 323 vehicles, Chery was able to sell 382 units last June. This is a stark achievement for the company given that total industry sales dipped by 5% last June. The result is an 18% increase in monthly sales compared to what they did in May 2023, as well as landing the 10th spot in the total sales ranking for the month of June.
Chery Auto PH's June market performance was bannered by the strong sales of the Tiggo 5X with 247 units sold, enabling it to climb to a strong No.2 ranking with 26% market share in the subcompact SUV segment. Meantime, the shortage of the Tiggo 7 Pro Luxury version was compensated by the initial deliveries of the hybrid version. This allowed the Tiggo 7 Pro to sell a total of 76 units which represents a 4% growth compared to last May.
More importantly, Chery sold a total of 1,668 units for the first half of 2023. This represents an 8% growth year-on-year and brings the brand to the 11th overall ranking with a 0.8% market share. The year-on-year cumulative sales of the Tiggo 5X and Tiggo 8 Pro at 834 and 271 units, respectively contributed to Chery’s sales growth in the first 6 months of 2023.
“We are very pleased that more and more Filipinos are trusting the Chery brand. We are confident that this upward sales momentum will continue as we introduce the new Tiggo 5X Pro Comfort and Hybrid version this month”, said Rommel Sytin, UAAGI Chairman.
In the future, there will be new dealer outlets in key areas around the country very soon as a direct result of Chery Auto Philippines' good sales attracting dealer investors added Sytin.
