This Suzuki Jimny turned to a pint-sized Land Cruiser 79

It's becoming a normal thing to see examples of the Suzuki Jimny turning into a Land Rover Defender, a Ford Bronco, or a Mercedes-Benz G-Class mini-me. But as it turns out, the little off-roader is not yet done morphing into another classic 4x4.

Australian recovery equipment brand Maxtrax has built the “Toyzuki”, a Suzuki Jimny that's made to look like a twin of the Toyota Land Cruiser 79, but at about half the size. What it lacks in heft, it makes up for with a lot of off-road equipment to make it a small, but capable rig.

From the outside, the resemblance is made profound by the classic Toyota “Sandy Taupe” paint along with the front headlights and grille that says “Toyzuki”. The LC70 hood scoop has likewise been adopted by the Jimny. But instead of feeding cool air to the intercoolers of the Land Cruiser's 4.5-liter V8 turbodiesel, the scoop serves to cool the Jimny's 1.5-liter, four-cylinder engine.

An AFN bullbar was fitted along with side brush bars and integrated side steps to protect the Toyzuki's custom panels, while the steel bumper has another set of LED lights and a GME antenna. Black Bear supplied the meaty mud terrain tires, while JMACX did the beefing up of suspension components.

Towards the rear, the custom rear canopy was made by Concept Canopies, while up top is a roof rack fitted with LED spotlights and a custom “Batwing” awning tent for the little rig.
