This Porsche 911 brings Sally Carrera from Cars to the real world
Porsche and Pixar bring Sally Carrera to real life with 1 of 1 Sally Special

We all have a thing for the cars we see in movies. Think cars like the Mustang from Bullitt or the Delorean from Back to the Future; movie cars so coveted that these have fetched so much at auctions.
Porsche is no stranger to being the stars on the silver screen. 1983's Risky Business saw Tom Cruise driving at 928. Michael Bay's Bad Boys also used a Porsche 964 Turbo, but perhaps the best example is the 356 Spyder in Top Gun.

There are many who commission special editions of the cars they saw in a film, but rarely do movie cars (animated ones in particular) actually inspire a real life model that will be built by a car manufacturer.
Porsche has teamed up with Pixar for a partnership with their 2006 film (and subsequent franchise) Cars. Yes, the animated movie.

Porsche has built a 911 inspired by the Pixar character Sally Carrera. They're calling it the 911 Sally Special and it is truly represents a good partnership because it's the first time Pixar collaborated for anything like this, the car itself will be a one-off, and it will be auctioned for charity.

“Together with Pixar we have brought the spirit of Sally to life in a new way, not on the screen, but off the screen,” said Dr. Sebastian Rudolph, Vice President Communications, Sustainability and Politics at Porsche AG. “With this one-off street legal 911, the 'Sally Special', which we are auctioning for charity, we want to help people who urgently need support, quite in keeping with the spirit of the film character.”

The project started in November 2021 and it brought together Porsche as well as the original Cars team. They worked together at the Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur (the company's custom house) and Style Porsche (the company's design house) in Germany.
While the Pixar film used a 996, the real life example is a 992. The vehicle itself is finished in a special blue as an homage to the film that Porsche calls Sallybluemetallic... no spaces. They customized the wheels, the interior (with more shades of blue), so on and so forth.

Perhaps the most unique feature is the back “tattoo” that Sally had in the film. In the modern version, the “tattoo” appears when the rear spoiler goes up.
Porsche says there will only be one 911 Sally Special, and it will go under the hammer for charity on the 20th of August at Monterey Car Week in California. The proceeds of the auction will go to Girls Inc, while the other portion will go to USA for UNHCR in support of refugees from Ukraine.
