This kit turns your Land Cruiser 200 into an LC 300 lookalike
China-based company offering Land Cruiser 300 bodykit conversion for 200 Series model

To say that there’s a huge demand for the Toyota Land Cruiser is a (big) understatement. A couple of weeks ago, the automaker announced there’s a four-year waitlist for its flagship SUV in Japan. That means Japanese customers that ordered late will be waiting for a while.
The issue is not limited to Japan, though. Other markets also have a long waitlist, and the Philippines is included. But for current Land Cruiser owners that don't want to wait for the new model, there’s an alternate solution. Well, sort of.

If you have a Land Cruiser 200 sitting in the garage, you can contact an aftermarket company from China that can "convert" it into the new LC 300. No, we’re not kidding. The conversion kit is made by a company called GBT Bodykits, and it’s quite comprehensive.

Not only does it come with the bumpers, but it also gets the signature front grille, a whole tailgate, custom LED headlights and taillights, and even the foglights that mimic the design and shape of the LC 300.
For the untrained eye, some might say it’s a near-exact copy. However, we did notice some telltale signs that show it's just a conversion kit. Perhaps the most obvious is the kit’s LED headlights which are bigger than the ones on the LC 300. Keen-eyed readers will also notice the different window line between the two SUVs, and the rear end isn't very proportionate. For the most part, however it's a good copy. Well, at least in the photos.

They say that "imitation is the highest form of flattery". But then again, some people also believe in the saying "flattery will get you nowhere". We’re not entirely sure if Toyota will be pleased once they find out someone is making a conversion kit of their latest SUV over in China.

If you’re interested in getting the LC 200 to LC300 conversion kit, it’s currently listed on Alibaba and retails for USD 5,500 (about PHP 280,866). If you get more than one set, the kit’s price becomes cheaper by several thousand dollars.
What do you think? Is this LC 200 to LC 300 conversion kit ingenious or not?
