This is the Vinfast VF Wild pickup truck concept

We already received insider information that Vietnamese automaker Vinfast is looking to set up shop in the Philippines. Based on what we know, the automaker is also actively hiring experienced executives to fill key roles in the company.

With the brand looking to sell both ICE and EV models in the country, it might not be long before we see cars with the distinct 'V' badge populating our roads in the future. Currently, they have a wide array of sedans, crossovers, and city cars. Soon, however, they might also have a pickup truck in their lineup.

Making a debut at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2024 is the Vinfast VF Wild, an all-electric midsize pickup truck concept that combines sleek looks, a long bed with a folding midgate to carry long loads, as well as a zero-emissions powertrain.

While its exact specifications have yet to be revealed by Vinfast, it has a claimed driving range of around 250 miles or 400 km. As mentioned earlier, it has a powered midgate that can fold and extend the pickup truck's bed length. With the bed wall, rear glass, and back seats folded, it can haul longer loads with ease without them sticking out of the bed.

Inside, the concept truck has splashes of beige and gray, along with plenty of leather upholstery complete with contrast stitching. It gets a stylish dashboard that's dominated by a large touchscreen, a unique center console, piano black trim pieces, and screens for the rear passengers.

Given its size, the VF Wild Concept could take on the likes of the Ford Ranger, Toyota Hilux, Isuzu D-Max, and the Mitsubishi Strada. And while it's touted as an electric pickup concept, the production version could also bring an ICE variant for those that prefer internal combustion.

Other details about the Vinfast VF Wild Concept are not yet available. But given that the automaker surprised showgoers with the concept, perhaps they will share more details in the future after CES 2024.
