This is the face of the Ram 1500 EV pickup

Back in February, Ram confirmed that they will be making an all-electric version of the 1500 pick-up truck. Set to take on the likes of the F-150 Lightning and the Silverado EV, the automaker showed us a preview of its shape, as well as the EV platform that will underpin the zero-emissions pickup truck.

The following month, Ram gave us a better look at the 1500 EV pickup truck. Compared to the 1500 powered by an internal combustion engine (ICE), the EV version will have a very different look. It will come with a distinct pair of LED daytime running lights, inverted L-shaped LED taillights and a sleeker profile. Aside from that, Ram also mentioned that the 1500 EV will enter production by 2024.

Fast forward to April, and Ram has released another teaser of the upcoming electric pick-up. This time, we get to see a better look at the Ram 1500 EV's face thanks to a new video. Just like before, it comes with the unmistakable LED DRL design that makes it stand out. However, we now also get to see some of its exterior features.

Despite the shadows still hiding most of its design, it's clear that the 1500 EV will have a muscular exterior much like its ICE brethren. It will also come with a power bulge hood, aggressive fenders, and what appears to be an illuminated 'RAM' badge at the front.

With no engine under the hood, perhaps the designers had more creative freedom in designing the 1500 EV. But with production set to start in 2024, perhaps what we're looking at is a design concept that will eventually become the production version set to be built two years from now.

There are no details yet regarding its electric powertrain, but based on initial rumors, the 1500 EV could be underpinned by the STLA Frame platform that's currently in development for Stellantis pick-up trucks. This could theoretically give the truck up to 805 km of range. More importantly, it might also come with battery sizes that can hold 159 kWh to more than 200 kWh.

With the concept supposedly set to be revealed later this year, we certainly cannot wait to see what the Ram 1500 EV pick-up will look like.
