Tank 300 Frontier Edition comes with free e-dirt bike
We want the Tank 300 Frontier 300 to make its way to PH

A few weeks ago, we made a wish list of the possible cars Great Wall Motors (GWM) could launch in the Philippines. Under the new partnership with Luxuriant Automotive Group Inc (LAGI), the automaker is set to announce its first dealer location and the initial lineup of cars it will bring to the market.

One of the vehicles we wish to see on Philippine roads is the Tank 300, and GWM has just revealed a special edition of a 4x4 vehicle. It’s called the Frontier Edition and it gets more than just a fresh coat of yellow paint.

The special edition Tank 300 comes with an electronic bicycle from Buxus. It’s equipped with a single electric motor that puts out a humble 1 PS and a removable 20Ah battery pack that gives the e-bike a range of around 100 km on a full charge. It also gets grippy rubber tires, dual-piston hydraulic brakes, and a special dock (plus an app) for smartphones that allow a smartphone to transform into a digital instrument cluster.
Thanks to a bumper-mounted bike carrier, the e-bike can come along for the ride in the Tank 300 Frontier Edition. Since it only measures 1734mm, long, the e-bike is compact enough to fit at the back for the 4x4 which is 1970mm wide.

As for the 4x4 itself, the Tank 300 Frontier Edition is painted in a special yellow paint complete with a black livery. It’s also equipped with a new front grille with ’T A N K’ lettering, a power-bulge hood, an air snorkel, a roof rack, off-road bumpers, and an integrated bull-bar complete with a winch. It even gets fender extensions, underbody protection, and a set of 18-inch beadlock wheels to ensure it can take on any terrain.
Powering the Tank 300 Frontier Edition is the same 2.0-liter turbocharged gasoline inline-four. It makes 227 PS along with 387 Nm of torque. Power is then sent to all four wheels via an 8-speed automatic gearbox, an all-wheel drive system, and electronic differential locks.

The initial batch of the Tank 300 Frontier Edition for China is only limited to 3,000 units and all will come with the e-bike mounted at the back. Should GWM increase its production, we’re hoping they will be able to make more units that could make their way to the Philippine market.
