Suzuki PH teases 2022 Celerio

It seems we are only a few weeks away from the reveal of Suzuki's latest model. Earlier this year, an insider sent us pictures of the all-new Celerio already in the Philippines.

First spotted at local ports (and being transported via a carrier), the next-generation hatchback gets a brand new look and appears to be bigger than ever. Moreover, they also mentioned that the 2022 Celerio will now be sourced from Maruti. This means that instead of getting them from Thailand, the hatchback will now come from India like the Dzire.

Today, Suzuki Philippines officially releases a teaser image of the upcoming hatchback. While they did not exactly mention it by name, it's clear that the vehicle being teased is in fact the all-new Celerio. Side-by-side with a press photo, we can see some noticeable similarities. From the distinct headlights, large foglights, and stylish grille, it's obvious that this is our first (teaser) look at the 2022 Celerio.

Images of the hatchback's interior are not yet available. However, if we were to base it on what India gets, the PH-spec Celerio could come with the following; an engine start/stop button, a new 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, redesigned three-spoke steering wheel, restyled instrument panel and aircon vents, and 60:40 split-folding rear seats.

Size-wise, the all-new Celerio now measures 3695mm long, 1655mm wide, and 1555mm tall. This makes the hatchback 55mm longer, 55mm wider, and 15mm taller than ever. The wheelbase has also been stretched by 10mm (2435mm) which translates to improved rear legroom.

Under the hood, we can expect the hatchback to come with the new generation 1.0-liter K10C three-cylinder engine. It makes 66 PS with 89 Nm of torque and can be connected to either a five-speed manual gearbox or a five-speed automated manual transmission (AMT) called Auto Gear Shift (AGS).

No launch dates or variants have been announced yet for the 2022 Suzuki Celerio. But since the automaker has already released a teaser, it means they're probably gearing up for its big reveal very soon.
