Suzuki PH launching Ertiga Hybrid on Jan 16
After PIMS 2022 preview, Suzuki PH ready to debut the mild-hybrid Ertiga

Back in September of last year, Suzuki Philippines (SPH) gave the public a preview of things to come when they showed the Ertiga Hybrid. Revealed during the 8th Philippine International Motor Show (PIMS), it signaled the brand’s intention to bring more electrified models into the country.
At the time, SPH did not say when they will actually launch it in the country nor the number of variants or prices of the electrified MPV. But thanks to a teaser image the company recently posted, we now have a good idea when the mild-hybrid MPV will be actually revealed.

While the teaser image doesn’t exactly say what they will be revealing, the distinct silhouette of the electrified MPV can be seen on the cut-out portion of the leaf. More importantly, Suzuki added the launch date of the Ertiga Hybrid which will take place on January 16, 2023.
As before, there are currently no details yet about the upcoming Ertiga Hybrid. But since it’s already been on sale in Thailand and Indonesia since last year, we already have a good idea of what to expect.

For starters, there’s the obvious 1.5-liter K15B four-cylinder engine that is paired with an integrated starter generator (ISG) and lithium-ion battery pack. The result is a total system output of 105 PS and 138 Nm of torque. Power is then sent to the front wheels via the tried-and-tested four-speed automatic transmission.
While it might not exactly get a huge power boost, the MPV does get fuel-saving technologies via the Smart Hybrid System. These include automatic start/stop while idling, regenerative braking that recharges the lithium-ion battery pack, and torque assist which delivers faster acceleration while under load.

As far as exterior and interior changes are concerned, the Ertiga Hybrid will feature some subtle updates here and there. Based on what we saw at PIMS 2022, the Ertiga Hybrid will get a new front grille, updated tailgate garnishes, 15-inch dual-tone alloy wheels, and a “Hybrid” badge on the tailgate. Inside, we can expect the MPV to come with a restyled instrument panel, a new multi-info display, new fabric seats and trim, as well as a digital air-conditioning system.
With just a week to go before Suzuki debuts the Ertiga Hybrid, we’ll keep you posted regarding the other details of the MPV should they become available.
