Subaru PH models not part of fuel system recall
Sealed fuel system recall affecting only North American Subaru models

Subaru owners in the Philippines can breathe a sigh of relief after Motor Image Pilipinas shared some good news regarding a recall.
Recently, Subaru issued a recall in North America involving certain hybrid models due to a fuel system component issue. After direct verification with Subaru Corporation, Motor Image Group, together with Motor Image Pilipinas, confirmed that Subaru vehicles distributed within its markets, including the Philippines, are not affected by the said recall.
The recall in question pertains specifically to a fuel system component developed exclusively for vehicles produced for the North American market. To comply with local environmental regulations, North American-specification vehicles come with a specialized sealed fuel system.
With that, Subaru Corporation reiterated that the sealed fuel system currently being recalled in North America is not used in vehicles distributed by Motor Image Group. Vehicles sold in the Group’s markets are engineered to meet local regulatory and environmental standards and therefore carry different technical specifications.
As a result, the conditions cited in the North American recall do not exist in Subaru vehicles distributed by Motor Image Group. More importantly, no action is required from owners within these regions, including the Philippines.
For customers who recently purchased the all-new Subaru Forester e-Boxer Hybrid, you can be assured that your vehicle is safe and is not part of the recall.
