Ssangyong KG Mobility Torres spotted in PH, launching soon?
Does this mean KG Mobility (fka Ssangyong) is coming under a new distributor in the Philippines?

A few months ago, AutoIndustriya.com released a story about a local distributor looking at adding a Korean brand to its portfolio. With Kia already under AC Motors and Hyundai Motor PH a direct subsidiary of the company itself, we're left with KG Mobility (formerly known as Ssangyong).
While no executive of Astara has officially commented on this, KG Mobility is the only logical option at this point. Looking at Astara's global portfolio, they have KG Mobility in countries like Spain, Switzerland, Germany, Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, Germany, the Canary Islands, and Chile. This means Astara has already established a relationship with the Korean automaker for quite some time.

The recent sighting of the all-new KG Mobility Torres Philippine roads further heightens interest and hype around the marque's possible arrival (or revival). The new rugged crossover SUV was seen wearing local plates and even had a conduction sticker on the back window. No official specs are available yet, but it likely has a 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine derived from the Korando and a 6-speed automatic gearbox.
With a Torres now in the Philippines, does this mean Ssangyong is set to relaunch in the country as KG Mobility and under a new distributor? After getting a closer look at the license plate and the conduction sticker, the vehicle was actually brought over by another importer that specializes in Korean-made vehicles.

While KG Mobility is not yet officially available in the country, rumors going around that another company is supposedly interested in bringing the Korean brand into the country. That company is The Covenant Car Company Inc (TCCCI). With SAIC now taking over operations of MG in the Philippines, TCCCI appears to be looking at the Korean automaker to boost its presence in the country aside from its two staple brands - Chevrolet and Volvo.
Do you think the KG Mobility Torres will make sense in the country? Let us know in the comments below.
