SPIED: Will we see an all-new Range Rover Sport SVR?

Think Range Rover SV, and more than likely, you'll think of an uber-luxurious SUV that comes with all the bells and whistles one would normally associate with such a vehicle. Heck, just last year, Land Rover Philippines launched the latest Range Rover SV, which can go upwards of PHP 35 million and up. They then followed it up with the Range Rover Sport SV Edition Two earlier this year, which will only be limited to 2,500 examples globally and begins at PHP 32.49 million.

Now, it looks like Land Rover is busy building yet another Range Rover Sport SV, or so they want you to believe. That's because our spies recently caught the automaker testing a camouflaged prototype at the Nurburgring, and it has some features that make us think otherwise.

Our spies were able to take pictures of the camouflaged SUV being tested with a Range Rover Sport SV just behind it. While the brand may be working on a facelifted version, the automaker could also be testing an SVR variant of the Range Rover Sport.

While it's hard to see any distinct changes, what's quite apparent are the unusually large dual exhausts in the back and the bigger disc brakes and calipers. Along with what looks to be a more aerodynamic front bumper and low-profile tires, it's quite possible that Land Rover could indeed be testing the new SVR version of the latest Range Rover Sport.

The last time Land Rover unleashed an SVR version of the Range Rover Sport was way back in 2018, and it was made available for the second-generation model. It had a 5.0L supercharged V8 that cranked out 575 PS, which allowed it to sprint from 0 – 100 km/h in just four seconds.

Currently, the most powerful version of the Range Rover Sport is the SV, which has a BMW-derived 4.4L twin-turbo V8 that generates 635 PS and 750 Nm of torque. This allows the Range Rover SV to hit 100 km/h from a standstill in 3.6 seconds, 0.4 seconds faster than the previous SV.

If Land Rover is indeed working on an SVR model, we can expect it to be even faster than the SV and could come with a more powerful version of the twin-turbo V8.
