SPIED: V8-powered Lexus LFR spotted with various rear wings, less camo

The first time we saw Lexus' upcoming supercar was way back in November 2024. Despite the camouflage livery hiding most of its looks, it's hard to ignore its thunderous V8. In an age where brands are switching to downsized turbo engines and electrified powertrains, it's nice to see brands like Lexus keeping the internal combustion engine (ICE) alive and well.

After nearly a year of spotting Lexus' V8-powered supercar at the Nurburgring, our spy photographers managed to take new pictures of the vehicle being tested once more. This time, our spies managed to spot different versions of the upcoming Lexus LFR.

Based on what our spy photographers managed to spot, there could be a total of three variants available of the LFR, one without a wing, one with a massive wing, and one with a smaller-sized wing, although it didn't want to be caught by our spies' cameras.

There is also less camouflage on the prototype LFRs that were spotted recently at the Nurburgring. Based on the overall design and aggressive profile of the vehicles, the LFR will most likely be based on the Sport Concept, which made its debut not too long ago at this year's Monterey Car Week.

Under the hood, the Lexus LFR will reportedly be powered by a 4.0L twin-turbo V8 that will generate 730 PS. However, the V8 could get some hybrid assistance, which could mean it will have a total system output of over 900 PS. These figures, however, have yet to be confirmed, so we'll be keeping our eyes peeled for more info in the future.

With Lexus busy testing what appears to be the final prototype versions, a full presentation is expected to take place before the year ends. With the 2025 Japan Mobility Show all set for next month, we're curious if Lexus will hold the LFR's launch this coming October.
