SPIED: Range Rover facelift wants to play spot the difference

The fifth-generation Range Rover has been around for quite some time, and JLR has left it untouched since it debuted in 2021.

Pretty soon, though, the flagship SUV is getting a model refresh. And by then, the electric version might also come along with it.

But going back, our spy photographers recently caught a camouflaged prototype near the Arctic Circle. And to be honest, we’d understand if you have a hard time spotting the difference, because so do we.

Getting a closer look, however, shows a bigger grille in a new mesh, along with a reworked front bumper and a different light signature for the headlights. But elsewhere, the refreshed Range Rover does not appear to be much different from the current version.

If you’ve seen the interior of the current Range Rover, the dashboard is dominated by two massive screens. Our spy source tells us there could also be an update inside, which will probably mean even bigger screens, or hopefully, more buttons for better functionality.

Under the hood, the Range Rover’s powertrain offerings are likely to stay as they are. Buyers have a choice of a 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8, a plug-in hybrid inline-six, or a six-cylinder turbodiesel.

As for timelines, JLR would probably launch the refreshed version for the 2027 model year.
