SPIED: More powerful Xiaomi YU7 wants to take on Tesla Model Y
Our spies managed to take pictures of the Xiaomi YU7 GT being driven at the Nurburgring

Remember when Xiaomi unveiled the YU7? Touted to take on the likes of Tesla Model Y, the YU7 can travel up to 760 km on a single charge and is capable of generating 680 PS and 866 Nm of torque in the AWD version.

All well and good, but Xiaomi wants something that's even more powerful. Well, thanks to our spy photographers, they managed to spot a camouflaged Xiaomi EV being tested recently. Say hello to the Xiaomi YU7 GT, and it looks like it's being put through the ringer.

Sporting a unique gray & red camouflage livery, the prototype Xiaomi YU7 GT was spotted wearing production parts at the Nurburgring. Our spies also noticed the YU7 GT was equipped with huge disc brakes on all corners that are almost the same size as the wheels. In addition, the YU7 GT was seen wearing grippy Pirelli P Zero Trofeo RS tires.

Style-wise, the YU7 GT appears to have a more aggressive front fascia with a chin spoiler and additional lower air intakes. The LED headlights appear to have been modified as well, with unique LED daytime running lights for a snazzier look. Other parts of the vehicle appear to have been carried over, although there appears to be a tailgate spoiler, a larger rear bumper, and a ducktail wing.
Unlike the regular YU7, the GT version is expected to crank out over 1,000 PS thanks to upgraded dual electric motors. With that, the YU7 GT could also reach a top speed of 300 km/h since the regular version can reach 253 km/h.

With Xiaomi busy testing its newest EV, its official launch may only be several months away.
