SPIED: BMW i3 M EV spotted anew with production lights
BMW i3 M (AKA M3 EV) has been sighted once more, this time with production lights

We've already seen the all-new electric 3 Series be revealed, which carries the name i3. Not only does it give us a better look at the next-generation 3 Series, but it also means we'll get to see a fully-electric M3 in the not-so-distant future.
Our spies have already spotted it several times (latest sighting was in January 2026), with BMW even releasing its own set of “spied” pictures. While it still has a camouflage livery hiding its exterior, it's quite apparent that the upcoming i3 M will feature a sportier and more dynamic appearance.

Now, our spies were able to spot the i3 M (AKA the M3 EV) once more somewhere in Europe, and it has given us another look at what to expect. Despite the livery hiding most of the exterior, the i3 M will have a similar look to the Neue Klasse BMW i3 that was revealed last month. However, the i3 M appears to be wider and bulkier, thanks to its more aerodynamic body kit, and bigger wheels & tires.
The production lights appear to be the same ones that were spotted before. Upon first glance, they seem to have a similar design to the ones found on the recently launched i3. However, the i3 M appears to have a slightly different look to make it stand out from the standard i3. We have to wait until the covers are fully off to check if there are any differences.

As seen before, the center of the i3 M's hood is a large air scoop, which could be to help cool the brakes or the powertrain when driving spiritedly. The scoop could also function to send air towards the back to help keep the car grounded when driving at highway (or circuit) speeds.
The upcoming EV will reportedly be powered by a 100 kWh battery pack, although its estimated range has yet to be revealed. The battery pack then feeds power to a quad-motor system, wherein an electric motor will power each wheel. This will translate to better AWD capability and instantaneous power delivery. The i3 M will reportedly generate between 700 PS and 1,360 PS.

There's no timeline yet as to when BMW plans to officially launch the i3 M. But since the BMW i3 is already revealed, maybe we can expect the automaker to reveal it later this year.
