Spied: Are you the all-new Toyota Innova?

Filipino netizens, this could be the next-generation model of your favorite car-spotting photobomber.

An eagle-eyed car enthusiast has spotted a heavily camouflaged MPV roaming the streets of India. And upon closer inspection of its familiar silhouette, we may be looking at the next-generation Toyota Innova.

The top half of the vehicle which includes the lights, the windows, and the roofline still resembles the current model. But the bottom half is where the differences were made. Based on reports, the next-generation Innova is ditching its conventional ladder frame setup for a monocoque chassis. If you'll look at the camouflaged prototype, it's clear that the Innova has indeed lost a bit of ground clearance.

What it lost in the ride height department, it will make up for in more cabin space. With the Innova also reported to be switching from rear-wheel-drive (RWD) to front-wheel-drive (FWD), we could expect the next-generation MPV to have generous cabin space, much like how Toyota did it with the new Avanza/Veloz.

But unlike the Avanza which is based on the Daihatsu New Global Architecture (DNGA), the Innova will reportedly be underpinned by the Toyota New Global Architecture (TNGA). We have yet to see which TNGA platform, but our best bet would be the TNGA-C or TNGA-K.

The spy shots also caught a glimpse of the Innova's interior where the large infotainment screen is placed high in the dashboard, much like Toyota's newest models.

The current Innova is available locally with a 2.8-liter turbo-diesel but reports strongly suggest the diesel may be ditched in favor of either a 2.0-liter hybrid.

Toyota Indonesia already released a teaser photo, so we may not have to wait long for other official details regarding the next-generation Innova. At least for now, the spy shots suggest we can still recognize the all-new Innova once it's out.
