Specs, prices, features: 2023 Nissan Livina launched in PH

After being spotted on our local roads in the past few weeks, the 2023 Nissan Livina is officially out in the Philippine market.

Nissan Philippines Inc. (NPI) has launched its latest MPV segment contender, which is a product of its alliance with Mitsubishi. The Livina nameplate returns to the market after almost a decade, coming in as a slightly different-looking and rebadged twin of the Xpander.

The 2023 Livina comes in four variants: the top-spec VL, the mid-grade VE, the base EL automatic, and the E manual. The MPV measures 4510 mm long, 1750 mm wide and 1700 mm tall, with a wheelbase of 2775mm. Lower variants are 5 mm lower as they are wearing smaller 15-inch wheels compared to the top and mid-spec trims that have 16-inch wheels.

Starting off with its front fascia, the all-new Livina gets its own identity. It features Nissan's signature V motion grille that's similar to the recently launched Kicks e-Power. However, its high-mounted LED daytime running lights and multi-reflector halogen headlights are split, taking a page from the Xpander playbook.

Its side profile is similar to its Mitsubishi twin except, of course, for the unique 16-inch machine-finished alloys. Around the back, the Livina follows a more contemporary design with less pronounced creases compared to the Xpander. In addition, it has a split faux diffuser that completes the look of the Livina's rear end.

Inside, the Livina features the pre-facelift interior layout and design of its Mitsubishi twin, the Xpander. Its steering wheel with Nissan's corporate logo has tilt and telescopic adjustment, plus behind it is a color LCD for its multi-info display. The top-of-the-line VL gets leather upholstery in its seats, while the rest of the variants get either brown or beige fabrics.

For its infotainment system, it has a 7-inch touchscreen unit that has smartphone linking, Bluetooth, and USB connectivity. Other interior features include dial-type manual air-conditioning, a six-speaker sound system (top-spec variant) 12V power sockets, and USB ports for charging mobile devices.

As for its engine, the all-new Livina is powered by the Mitsubishi 4A91, a 1.5-liter, four-cylinder MIVEC unit that produces 105 PS at 6000 rpm and 141 Nm of torque at 4000 rpm. The engine is mated to either a 4-speed automatic or a 5-speed manual that drives the MPV's front wheels.

In terms of its safety features, the Livina comes with two front SRS airbags and ABS as standard, while things such as traction control, vehicle dynamics control, hill start assist, reverse cameras, and parking sensors are reserved for VL and VE variants only.

Available colors for the 2023 Nissan Livina include; Diamond Pearl White, Moonstone Gray, Onyx Black, Platinum Silver, and Royal Ruby Red.

Nissan Philippines says the 2023 Livina MPV will start rolling out in dealerships on September 15, 2022 - the opening day of the Philippine International Motor Show (PIMS). In addition, the all-new Livina will be covered by a 5-year/150,000 km warranty.
