Sony & Honda's Afeela 1 EV will be available in 2026
The Afeela 1 can travel up to 483 km and generate 490 PS

Remember when Sony and Honda partnered up for a new EV brand called Afeela? After first debuting a concept version of the high-tech EV two years ago, the companies recently announced that they have opened the reservation books and that customer deliveries will begin in 2026 for US customers.
Both Sony and Honda confirmed this at the 2025 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. There will be a total of two variants of the Afeela 1 - Signature and Origin.

The flagship variant is called Signature and will be available in mid-2026 and will feature a rear entertainment system consisting of two screens, a central camera monitoring system, and a cutting-edge advanced driver assistance system (ADAS) that features 40 sensors, high-definition cameras, radars, and a LiDAR. Meanwhile, the Origin variant will be the entry-level version and will become available around 2027.
The ADAS works via the Afeela Intelligent Drive which serves as the brand’s own smart driver aids. It’s not yet known what level of autonomy the system supports but since the Afeela 1 is aimed at the likes of the Tesla Model S, we won’t be surprised if it will have similar levels of self-driving capability.

When it comes to its electric powertrain, the production model will have a range of up to 483 km thanks to a 91 kWh lithium-ion battery pack. This then powers a pair of electric motors which dole a total system output of 490 PS. The powertrain supports 11 kW AC charging and 150 kW DC fast charging. In addition, the Afeela can be recharged via Tesla’s Supercharging network. Size-wise, the Afeela 1 will measure 4941mm long, 1900mm wide, 1460mm tall, and has a 3000mm wheelbase.
Available in-car features in the Afeela 1 include a panoramic screen, 3D navigation maps, a Spatial sound system, active noise canceling system, automatic power doors, customizable themes, 5G connectivity, a digital key (or mobile app), and an intelligent entertainment system.

Those who are interested in getting an Afeela 1 will have to shell out a large sum of money as prices start at USD 89,900 or around PHP 5.2 million. Could we see the Afeela 1 make its way here in the Philippines?
