SMC, Ayala team up to build new Interchange in Calamba
Project target completion date is on or before December 2024

Two conglomerates have reached a milestone as San Miguel Corporation (SMC) and Ayala Corporation broke ground for the construction of the Ayala Greenfield Interchange in Calamba, Laguna.
The joint venture between SMC Infrastructure and Ayala Greenfield Development Corporation (AGDC) is set to build a new interchange that will connect the South Luzon Expressway (SLEX) to the local roads in Calamba. AGDC is a joint venture between Ayala Land, Inc. and the Greenfield Group of the Campos family.
“We are proud to partner with Ayala [Corporation] on this project. This is part of SMC Infrastructure’s larger initiative to improve and expand our southern tollways network, particularly the South Luzon Expressway,” said Ramon Ang, Chairman and CEO of SMC.

Once completed, the new interchange is seen to improve congestion in key areas in Laguna and Batangas, particularly in Sto. Tomas and Calamba. Additionally, the Ayala Greenfield Interchange will soon connect SLEX to the Toll Road 4 (TR4) project that is currently being constructed from Sto. Tomas all the way to Lucena City.
“By the end of the year, we expect to turn it into a 6x6-lane expressway. With this, we can better support and sustain the long-term growth of the CALABARZON region,” added Ramon Ang.
“We are not simply breaking ground on a new infrastructure project; we are laying the foundation for enhanced connectivity and growth, enriching the lives of the communities that we serve,” said Jaime Augusto Zobel de Ayala, Chairman of Ayala Corporation.
