Singer's Turbo Study is a gorgeous tribute to original 911 Turbo

Singer Vehicle Design is famous for its legendary “reimagined” versions of the classic Porsche 911. Their creations were inspired by early long-hood 911s built from 1964 to 1973. Now, Singer enters a new era as the company introduces its interpretation of another Porsche icon – the original 911 Turbo, the 930.

It’s called the Turbo Study. According to Singer, it uses a 964-generation 911 body as a base but features a backdated design with styling inspiration from the 930 Turbo. There are a few upgrades to the 930-inspired design, though. For starters, the shark fins on the rear fenders have been repurposed as intakes, while the front bumper features a central vent. To keep the car light, carbon fiber is used for the custom widebody.

Unlike the original model from the late 70s, this new one uses an air-cooled twin-turbo 3.8-liter flat-six. It makes at least 450 horsepower as standard, though customers can specify more. There’s also a choice between rear-wheel drive (like the original vehicle) or all-wheel drive. A six-speed manual comes standard on the model.

Like its previous creations, Singer says each of the new 911 Turbo Study vehicles can be tailored to its owner’s wants and needs. As a result, there’s very little chance two Singer vehicles will be alike. The Wolf Blue example we see here is just one of the possible outcomes.

This specific model comes with rear-wheel drive, touring-optimized suspension, and carbon-ceramic brakes. The interior is finished in Malibu Sand with Black Forest wood accents and even has adjustable heated seats plus air-conditioning.

According to Singer, 70 customers have put down deposits for the 911 Turbo. Prices have yet to be announced, but since each vehicle is custom built to the owner’s desires, expect it to be very expensive. The 911 Turbo Study will make its public debut later this year at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in July.
