Shelby upgrades F-150 Raptor with more power, aggressive look

The F-150 Raptor is easily one of the most capable pick-up trucks you can order from Ford today (at least for those in North America). Launched last year, it uses a 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6 that’s good for 450 horsepower and performance-ready Fox suspension. But Ford-tuner Shelby thinks that’s not enough.

Shelby now offers an upgrade package for the 2021 and 2022 model year F-150 Raptor, and it all starts with an engine tune. The 3.5-liter V6 gets a larger air intake with a high-flow filter and an aluminum intercooler. As an option, customers can also order a Shelby performance exhaust. The result is an increased power output of 525 horsepower.

Aside from more power, Shelby’s upgrade also makes the Raptor look more rugged. The front bumper is swapped out for a metal unit and comes with an LED lightbar. There’s also a new hood with dual intakes and vents to improve airflow and cooling. Meanwhile, the grille now sports the Shelby branding and orange LED strips to match the orange Raptor lighting.

Towards the rear, a Shelby sports bar with an LED light bar was installed. To match the front steel bumper, the rear bumper is now metal too. Six 18-inch wheels wrapped in 37-inch BF Goodrich mud terrain tires are included in the upgrade; two of which are spares located in the bed. To further improve off-road performance, Shelby also offers an optional BDS Suspension lift for more ground clearance.

Inside, Shelby fits it with branded floor mats and other accessories. Other interior upgrades include carbon fiber trim, aluminum pedals, and Shelby logos on the seatbacks.

Owners of the 2021 and 2022 F-150 Raptor can get the Shelby upgrade for USD 54,995 or roughly PHP 2,818,500. It’s expensive, but you do get more power and a rugged rig.
