Say hello to the 2023 Subaru Forester GT Edition
2023 Subaru Forester GT Edition makes regional debut in Singapore, PH next?

Those who have been looking to get a brand new Forester in a more stylish package, rejoice! After a brief hiatus, Subaru distributor Motor Image has officially revealed the Forester GT Edition for the 2023 model year.
Making its regional debut at this year's Singapore Motor Show, the compact SUV gets a plethora of exterior upgrades that make it stand out more. The latest Forester GT Edition was made possible by former Subaru designer Masahiko “Jack” Kobayashi and the Japanese engineering company Giken Co, Ltd.

The 2023 Forester GT Edition features a more aerodynamic exterior courtesy of front and rear lip extensions, side skirts, and a roof spoiler. It also comes with a fresh new set of 18-inch alloy wheels that come with a “GT” logo on the center cap.

Inside, the GT Edition sports diamond-quilted leather seats that Subaru claims were inspired by European grand tourers. Further adding to the vehicle's exclusivity is the embossed “GT Edition” logo on the sides.
In Singapore, the Forester GT Edition is powered by a 2.0-liter e-Boxer hybrid engine. The engine alone makes 150 PS with 196 Nm of torque while the electric motor provides an extra 16.7 PS and 66 Nm of torque. Power goes to all four wheels via a Lineartronic CVT and Symmetrical AWD.

Providing peace of mind while on the road is Subaru EyeSight 4.0 which serves as the latest and most high-tech version of the brand's intelligent driver aids.
“We are starting this Singapore Motorshow on the right gear with a celebration of Subaru’s multiple firsts. Firstly, with the launch of the stunning GT Edition of Subaru’s well-loved Forester. Also, making its first ASEAN debut is Subaru’s first EV—the Go-Anywhere SUV, Solterra. So, get ready to ignite your senses with what the Subaru brand has to offer,” said Glenn Tan, Deputy Chairman and Managing Director of Tan Chong International Limited, the parent company of Motor Image.

With Singapore now having the 2023 Forester GT Edition, it might be a while before it makes its way to the Philippine market. Our best guess is that it will eventually make its local debut at the 2023 Manila International Auto Show (MIAS).
