Return of the comeback: Chery revealing all-new (and bigger) QQ
The original hatchback from Chery is returning as an electric vehicle

If there's one vehicle that has a very colorful history in the Philippine automotive industry, it's probably the Chery QQ.
Not only did the vehicle face criticism due to its build quality, but there was also the fact there was no aftersales support from the company when they first brought it here. The vehicle came at a time when the Chinese auto industry was still largely making clones of existing vehicles and making them as cheap as possible.

Nowadays, the Chinese auto industry has progressed by leaps and bounds and Chery has moved on from the QQ and now makes high-quality vehicles like the Tiggo line of crossovers. The QQ name continues to be used in the PRC for the QQ Ice Cream EV which is sold here as the Jetour Ice Cream. However, Chery is set to bring back the humble hatchback as a fully-electric hatchback.
During a recent media event in the PRC, Chery announced they will be bringing back the QQ as an EV. It's set to debut at the 2025 Auto Shanghai and the automaker even released a teaser image of the electric hatchback.

Based on the teaser design, the all-new Chery QQ will be bigger than its predecessors. It will likely share some styling elements from past generations although it will look more futuristic than ever. That means we can expect the next-generation QQ to have a retro-inspired design.
Other details about the upcoming QQ have yet to be revealed but with the 2025 Auto Shanghai 2025 all set for next month, we're hoping Chery releases more specifications about the electric hatchback. The only question now is, will the all-new QQ replace the Ice Cream EV?
