Rehab works on EDSA Magallanes Flyover moved to October

Remember when the Department of Public Works & Highways (DPWH) announced earlier this year that they would conduct rehabilitation works on the Magallanes Flyover this May? Well, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) has announced there has been a change of plans.

In a recent press conference, MMDA Chairman Romando Artes said that rehabilitation works on the Magallanes Flyover have been moved to October. This comes after Artes said that since repair works on the southbound lane of the Kamuning Flyover have yet to be completed, that project should be completed first.

“After na raw po ng Kamuning, so October na po magsisimula yung pagsasara pero sa gabi lamang. Hindi na po sila magsasara sa araw,” said Artes.

[Work will begin after Kamuning, so the closure will start in October but only at night. They will no longer be closing it for the day].

Artes also mentioned that the closure of the Magallanes Flyover this coming October will be from 10:00 PM to 5:00 AM.

On the other hand, construction of a temporary bridge along EDSA-Guadalupe continues as the Guadalupe Bridge is set to be repaired in September.

With several rehabilitation works set to begin later this year, the MMDA has advised motorists to brace for traffic as well as look for alternate routes towards their destinations in the coming months.
