Raptor Lite: 2025 Ford Everest Tremor wants to shake up the SUV market

It's no secret the Ford Ranger is a favorite among enthusiasts who like to dress them up for the great outdoors. Heck, even Ford themselves make distinct 4x4 versions that make the already capable pickup truck even more capable when taking on the road less traveled.

The Ford Everest is no exception as the Blue Oval has also made a Wildtrak version of the SUV. But we have yet to see a Raptor variant of the Ranger-based SUV. However, Ford Australia has made what could be the closest thing yet to Raptor-like Everest.

After being only available on the Ranger nameplate, Ford has revealed the 2025 Everest Tremor, and boy is it packing quite an equipment list. It comes with a beefier suspension and plenty more upgrades.

For starters, it swaps the highway tires for General Grabber all-terrain tires shod in black alloy wheels. It also gets Bilstein position-sensitive dampers and upgraded springs that increase the SUV's ground clearance by an inch. To allow the SUV to take on the roughest of terrains, Ford gave the Everest Tremor a Rock Crawl Mode just like the Ranger Raptor.

Other exterior changes present on the Everest Tremor include a honeycomb-style front grille, a steel bash plate to protect the engine from debris, heavy-duty side steps, and an exclusive Command Gray paint job. Ford also put exclusive interior updates in special Everest as it gets Tremor-embossed leather seats, all-weather floor mats, and ebony-colored cabin inserts.

Under the hood, the Everest Tremor is powered by a 3.0-liter turbo-diesel V6. It generates 250 PS with 600 Nm of torque and is rated to have a braked towing capacity of 3,500 kg. Power is then sent to all four wheels via a 10-speed automatic transmission.

Those planning to get an Everest Tremor might want to hold their breath for now as it will only be available to the Australian market, at least for now. It's set to go into production by November 2024 and could prove popular with the 4x4 community who don't want to dress up their Everests.
