Portion of North Avenue closed Sept 24 - Oct 30 due to tunnel excavation
Motorists are advised to take alternate routes

The Department of Transportation (DOTr), in coordination with SMC Mass Rail Transit 7 Inc., has announced a temporary road closure along North Avenue, specifically on the eastbound lane heading toward Elliptical Road. The closure will run from September 24 until November 30, 2025, to make way for the excavation of the pedestrian tunnel for the Quezon Memorial Circle Station of MRT-7.
The affected stretch is the portion of North Avenue approaching the Quezon Memorial Circle underpass, up to the entry point to Elliptical Road. Motorists using this lane to access Elliptical Road, Commonwealth Avenue, and the Quezon Memorial Circle exits are advised to take alternate routes.

Suggested Alternative Routes:
From EDSA to Commonwealth Avenue, use Quezon Avenue or East Avenue as alternate access points.
From North Avenue toward Quezon Memorial Circle, motorists may take Agham Road or Visayas Avenue and exit onto Commonwealth or Elliptical Road.
For local traffic, smaller roads connecting to East Avenue and Quezon Avenue are available, but motorists are reminded to observe traffic management personnel on-site.

Traffic marshals and MMDA enforcers will be deployed to assist and manage traffic flow.
The DOTr assured the public that the closure is a necessary step to deliver a safer, modernized transport hub. Once completed, the new pedestrian tunnel will provide commuters with direct, convenient, and secure access to the MRT-7 station.
Authorities appealed for patience and cooperation, adding that all works are targeted for completion within the scheduled period to reopen North Avenue before the holiday rush.
