Porsche lets you go glamping in the 911
New roof tent by Porsche Tequipment compatible with 911, Cayenne, Macan, Panamera, and Taycan

If you want to hit the great outdoors and prefer doing it in a Porsche, perhaps the best vehicle to do that is Cayenne or Macan crossovers SUVs. With their taller ride height, high ground clearance, and more spacious cabin, these two vehicles are not only practical but can go (almost) anywhere.
But what if you want to transform your 911 into a trusty camping vehicle? Porsche has unveiled an all-new roof tent for the sports car. Available via Porsche Tequipment, the brand's official accessories provider, the company claims the roof tent “transforms the sports car into a hotel room for nature-lovers”.

When set up, the roof tent will measure 258cm long, 257cm wide, and 118cm tall. In the extended version, the tent also comes with a generous floor space that measures 210 x 130 cm. It weighs approximately 56 kg and has a maximum stationary load of 190 kg for vehicles with roof rails. For models without roof rails, Porsche says the tent is only rated for 140 kg total.

As for amenities, it has an integrated high-density polyfoam mattress while the tent walls are made of a breathable cotton blend. The tent can also keep the rain out thanks to water-resistant zippers and a separate rain cover for entry. To remind campers they are in a Porsche tent, the side walls mimic the distinct fly line of the 911 and feature a Porsche logo too.

Other features present in the tent are windows with an insect guard, a black-out cover to help keep the light out, and an exclusive hard case to store the tent while in transport. In the future, additional accessories will be offered for the tent roof, including an inner tent, a heated blanket, and a bag organizer.
If you want the roof tent but prefer it on another Porsche vehicle, the company says it's compatible with the Cayenne, Macan, Panamera, and Taycan – both with and without roof rails. Deliveries for the roof tent are set to begin in November 2022 and will have an SRP of EUR 4,980 or PHP 286,140.
