PIMS 2024: Honda launches Mugen Civic Type R Group A for PH
Mugen Civic Type R debuts in the Philippine market, limited to 5 units only

Honda Cars Philippines has something to offer for those who want extra flair for fans of the Civic Type R.
At the 2024 Philippine International Motor Show, HCPI has showcased the Mugen Civic Type R Group A. And yes, it’s an added form and function for the FL5 thanks to the Mugen tuning house.

The aero parts for the Group A were designed to improve aerodynamic performance. It consists of a front under spoiler, front bumper garnish, side garnish, rear under spoiler, and a larger rear wing. Compared to the standard FL5, the Mugen package promises to deliver a 25% increase in downforce.

Apart from that, the Mugen Civic Type R Group A gets the Mugen performance dampers for better road holding and wears an exclusive 19-inch Mugen FR10 aluminum wheel that was developed with BBS. These particular wheels are 10kg lighter than the stock FL5’s set.
In addition, the wheels are secured with Mugen racing lugnuts and lock nuts for extra style points. The FL5’s VTEC Turbo engine gets a sweeter exhaust note thanks to a center-mounted Mugen exhaust, but Honda has not disclosed the increase in power and torque over the stock version.

The Mugen Civic Type R Group A is incredibly rare, as Honda Cars Philippines will only roll out five units. According to a Honda executive, all units have been spoken for. Rumor has it the Mugen special retails for a cool PHP 4.6M+.
Check out the Mugen Civic Type R Group A at Honda’s PIMS booth from October 24 to 27 at the World Trade Center Manila.
