Peugeot's newest lion will be called the 408
Upcoming Peugeot 408 has the characteristics of SUVs with a fastback silhouette

There will be an all-new lion joining Peugeot's pride.
The French automaker has just released a teaser photo of its newest vehicle; the Peugeot 408. And no, it's not related to the 408 sedan that's currently on sale in China.
Based on the initial details released by the automaker, the 408 will be a “new species” of Peugeot. The company also described that it will have the characteristics of SUVs with a dynamic fastback silhouette. With that, perhaps the all-new 408 will combine the very best of both a sedan and a crossover.
But given the 408's name, expect this not to be a high-riding model. Under Peugeot's nomenclature, vehicles with a single '0' are hatchbacks, sedans, or wagons. These include the 208, 308, and the 508 models. Meanwhile, crossover SUVs only come with the '00' in their names – hence the 2008, 3008, and 5008 vehicles.
Other details about the upcoming Peugeot are not yet available. What we do know is that the 408 will be a global car and that it will be unveiled towards the end of June 2022.
With several more weeks before the Peugeot 408 makes its world debut, we're hoping the brand reveals more information about its new global vehicle. The only question now is, will it be offered here in the Philippines?
