Parts shortage halts Toyota production in Japan
Toyota factories in Japan still suffering from parts supply issues

Still waiting for your LC300? Unfortunately, you might have to wait a lot longer.
Parts supply shortages due to lockdowns and other health concerns continue to cripple Toyota's production in Japan, causing considerable inconvenience, especially for customers who have already placed orders for select Toyota models.
Apart from the “intentional pause” implemented by Toyota to prioritize a safe and healthy workplace, additional production suspensions have been announced by the Japanese marque for 10 out of its 14 domestic plants. These involve a three-day pause towards the last week of May and the first week of June in 16 out of 28 Toyota production lines.

Among the affected plants are Toyota's Motomachi and Tahara Plant which produces models such as the GR Yaris, the Land Cruiser 300, the Land Cruiser Prado, and Lexus models like the LS, IS, RC, RC F, and NX.
In addition, their Inabe and Yoshiwara Auto Body plants are also involved in the suspension. These plants make the bodyshells of Toyota models like the Hiace, the Alphard, the Land Cruiser 70, and even the LM and LX Lexus models.

Toyota says the parts supply issues are caused by the lockdown in Shanghai together with the ongoing shortage of semiconductors worldwide. Supposedly, the Japanese manufacturer's production plan for June is 850,000 units, but they have already adjusted their production targets by tens of thousands less due to these hurdles.
As you can see, the cars we've mentioned earlier are being sold in local Toyota and Lexus dealerships, which means customers who have placed orders on those affected models could be waiting a lot longer than expected before their units arrive.
