Parts of Commonwealth Ave will be closed nightly for five months
Westbound lane closure from July 25 until November 26; Eastbound closure from July 26 to December 6

If you live in Fairview or frequent the areas around Commonwealth Avenue, this latest advisory from the Department of Transportation will affect your daily commute for the next five months.

According to the DOTr, portions of Commonwealth Avenue will be closed at night until the early morning of the next day, so workers can continue the construction of the Regalado Station of the Metro Rail Transit Line 7 (MRT-7).

The affected areas will be from Regalado Avenue to Fairlane Street. The westbound lane will be closed from July 25 until November 26 nightly, 10 pm to 5 am. The eastbound lane will be closed for far longer – July 25 until December 6, also from 10 pm to 5 am.
Alternate routes have already been established. To find out the rerouting scheme and traffic management plans during the closure, check these photos below:

For QMC bound motorists:

“We seek the public’s cooperation and understanding for the temporary inconvenience, as the government works toward providing permanent convenience and comfort for the Filipino commuters, through an enhanced public transport system,” said the DOTr in a statement.
