P25 from Prodive is the Subaru 22B Impreza resurrected
Prodrive P25 to use the Impreza 22B platform for a powerful AWD machine

Subaru made its name in the World Rally Championships (WRC) in the 90s until the early 2000s with the help of advanced engineering company Prodrive. They started with the Legacy but their numerous podium finishes came with the Impreza.
That success is being celebrated by Prodrive with the P25. It is a physical manifestation of the Impreza’s debut in the WRC 25 years ago and that is not the only throwback. Prodrive actually used the 1998 22B STi body as the foundation for this commemorative model.
The P25 will use a 2.5-liter flat-four ‘boxer’ engine that puts out more than 406 PS and is attached to a 6-speed semi-automatic paddle-shift gearbox. It has a lightweight chassis thanks to its extensive use of carbon fiber.
To ensure everything is true to form, the production of the P25 is being managed by Peter Stevens (designer of the original Impreza WRC for Prodrive) and David Lapworth (engineer of the original Impreza WRC).
Only 25 units of the P25 will be made available worldwide.
“The original 22B Impreza is considered the most iconic of Subarus and highly sought after. We wanted to enhance everything that made that car so special by applying the very latest technology to create our own modern interpretation of a car that’s established a place in motoring history,” said Prodrive chairman, David Richards.
The limited-edition P25 will make its debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed next month.
