Number coding suspended from Oct 31 to Nov 1 – MMDA

Thinking of going around Metro Manila next week but are afraid you might get flagged for driving a coding vehicle during the long weekend holiday?

No need to worry about that as the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority has just announced that the expanded number coding scheme (aka the Unified Vehicular Volume Reduction Program) will be suspended from October 31 to November 1, 2022.

You read right, motorists driving cars with plates ending in 1, 2, 3, and 4 will not be flagged down by MMDA traffic personnel next week. This means drivers will not have to worry about violating the expanded number coding scheme between the hours of 7:00 AM to 10:00 AM in the morning and 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM in the evening.

Other cities like Makati which have their own number coding scheme have yet to announce whether they will suspend theirs from October 31 to November 1. But given that both dates are non-working holidays, the City of Makati could make a similar announcement this week.

If you don't plan on venturing out of Metro Manila during Undas and just want to explore and hang out in the city, motorists will be happy to know that they don't need to think about getting flagged by the MMDA for violating the UVVRP.
