No BS: Nissan really made a perfume with tire smoke scent
Nissan announces "Smell My Dust" perfume for Formula E Shanghai e-Prix

April Fools’ Day was almost two months ago. We’re just saying so you know we’re not making this one up.
Nissan just announced a new and exclusive perfume for this weekend’s Formula E race in Shanghai, China called “Smell My Dust”. We’re not quite sure what Nissan was thinking (or smoking?) when they did this, but they say they combined the scent of cherry blossoms with… tire smoke.

We can’t imagine what the unusual concoction smells like, but Nissan says it captures the spirit of Japan and the thrill of motorsport. To create the aroma, a Shanghai-based perfumer even used real bits of Formula E rubber from Nissan’s race cars.

Apparently, there’s a thing going on with the younger generation when it comes to niche perfumes and weird scent combinations, and Nissan wants to take advantage of that to connect its Formula E team to a new generation of fans.
No one knows yet if the aroma will indeed turn heads (and noses), but we’re sure it will get quite an attention. Now where to get our hands on one….
