NLEX preparing traffic management measures for FIBA tip off

The start of the FIBA World Cup is taking place this Friday, August 25. And as a basketball-loving country, the tournament is expected to gather a huge crowd at the Philippine Arena in Bulacan.

With that in mind, NLEX Corporation is preparing its measures to manage the flow of vehicles and mitigate the heavy traffic that is expected to happen tomorrow.

NLEX will be deploying over 200 traffic personnel and incident response teams around the Ciudad de Victoria as well as other strategic areas on the expressway. They also announced that additional directional road signages will be installed to guide motorists who intend to bring their private vehicles to the Philippine Arena.

The Ciudad de Victoria Toll Plazas have 100% RFID gates, which is why NLEX is reminding motorists to have Easytrip RFID installed on their vehicles with enough load credits before traveling to avoid inconvenience and hamper the flow of traffic.

The gates around the Philippine Arena will be open by 12:00 NN. By 5:30 PM, access gates will be closed, and only P2P buses and authorized vehicles with parking permits from FIBA will be allowed to enter.

In terms of parking spaces, motorists are only allowed to use the areas around the Philippine Arena as well as additional spaces at the Bocaue and Sta. Maria bypass roads.

On the other hand, NLEX will also be providing free P2P (point-to-point) shuttle services going to and from the Philippine Arena. The shuttle service will serve from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM on these following pick up and drop-off points:

• One Ayala Bus Terminal
• BGC Market Market Bus Terminal
• SM Megamall
• Araneta City
• Trinoma
• SM North
• Clover Leaf Ayala Mall Bus Terminal

With these measures in mind, NLEX Corporation reminds motorists to plan their trips accordingly and use alternate routes whenever possible to avoid inconvenience.
