NLEX Candaba 3rd Viaduct set to be fully opened Dec 2024
5-km Candaba 3rd Viaduct is all set for the holiday rush next month

After reporting that the Candaba 3rd Viaduct is nearing completion at 92% last September 2024, the NLEX Corporation announced that the project is set to be opened next month before the year ends.
Key government officials from Bulacan and Pampanga together with NLEX Corporation led the inspection of the NLEX Candaba 3rd Viaduct ahead of its target full opening. Now at 97% completion, the project is expected to serve more motorists as well as help decongest the viaduct during peak hours.

“This project would not be possible without the support of both our public and private partners; thus, we deem it fit to give some of our valued stakeholders a glimpse of this vital infrastructure,” said J. Luigi L. Bautista, NLEX Corporation president and General Manager.
Construction on the entire 5 km-long Candaba 3rd Viaduct first started in Q3 of 2023. It was originally targeted to be completed in 22 months, with Zone 1 (Pulilan Section) first opened to the public in August 2024. Meanwhile, Zone 2 (Apalit Section) became operational in October 2024. Once fully completed, it will allow for better mobility for motorists traversing the viaduct.

“Despite the numerous typhoons that challenged us during construction, we remain committed to delivering this project before the Christmas holiday rush. At NLEX, we recognize the increasing traffic demand in the country, which is why we have lined up various enhancement and expansion projects like the Candaba 3rd Viaduct, to address these concerns and provide an improved travel experience for our motorists,” added Bautista.
With the Candaba 3rd Viaduct set to be operational just in time for the holiday rush, its scheduled opening would benefit motorists on their way to Central and Northern Luzon, and back.
