Nissan provides mobility for WTTC Global Summit Manila 2022
The Department of Tourism and Nissan Philippines continue to collaborate for tourism recovery in the country.

The Department of Tourism (DOT) partnered with Nissan Philippines for the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC) Global Summit 2022, considered the largest event in the travel and tourism industry. Industry executives and government officials from around the world attended the summit held in Manila on April 20-22, 2022. This year's summit theme is Rediscovering Travel, where both local and foreign tourism industry leaders meet to share practices and efforts on how to create a safer and more sustainable world for travel.
As one of the summit's official mobility partners, Nissan Philippines provided a mix of its vehicle lineup including the New Nissan Terra, New Nissan Patrol, All-New Almera, and the Nissan Leaf to shuttle international delegates during their stay.
"We are glad to be working again with the Department of Tourism to promote local tourism as we have been doing in the Safe Trips campaign. This is another opportunity to encourage not just our fellow Filipinos, but also tourists from different countries, to rediscover the beauty of the Philippines and to explore our country," says Dax Avenido, Nissan Philippines General Manager for Communications.
In 2021, Nissan Philippines and the DOT renewed their partnership for 'Safe Trips'. Launched in 2020, the 'Safe Trips' campaign aims to promote the local tourism industry through safe and responsible travel during the pandemic. Since its launch, Nissan Philippines and the DOT have visited local tourist destinations to advocate for safe travels. Nissan is also promoting sustainable tourism with its recent trip to Boracay with the Leaf, Nissan's 100% electric vehicle.
Under the Safe Trips campaign, Nissan has also worked with OPM singers Barbie Almalbis and Noel Cabangon for "Ingat Kayo," an anthem that promotes safety during the pandemic and highlights the Filipino culture of care. The song was written by Nissan Philippines General Manager for Sales, Rollie Navarro.
