Several Nissan vehicles were used as shuttle transport during the event

In partnership with the Department of Tourism (DOT), Nissan Philippines has been appointed the Official Mobility Partner for the 36th Joint Meeting of the UN Tourism Commission for East Asia and the Pacific and the UN Tourism Commission for South Asia (36th CAP-CSA) and the 1st UN Tourism Regional Forum on Gastronomy Tourism for Asia and the Pacific, held from June 26-28, 2024 in Cebu.
Held annually, the Joint Meetings of the UN Tourism Commission for East Asia and the Pacific and the UN Tourism Commission for South Asia aim to strengthen regional cooperation and discuss issues faced by tourism in the region. In addition, the event was attended by UN Tourism member states, associate members, affiliate members from the private sector, and other international and regional organizations, as well as representatives from the Office of the President.
This year's meeting was also held alongside the inaugural UN Tourism Regional Forum on Gastronomy Tourism for Asia and the Pacific. Serving as a platform to celebrate the power of gastronomy tourism, it's set to bring together destinations and international experts to exchange knowledge and the best practices in the sector while also highlighting the unique culture and delicacies of the Philippines.

In collaboration with Nissan's local dealer partners at Nissan Cebu North under Nissan Cebu Distributors Inc., Nissan Cebu Central under AutoSynergy Inc., and Nissan Cebu South under the Gateway Group, 50 units of various models from Nissan's current lineup such as the Terra, Urvan, and the Kicks e-Power Sport were provided to shuttle delegates around during the event.
“We are proud to be partnered with the Department of Tourism as the event's official mobility partner. Nissan and the DOT have always had a good relationship filled with collaboration, as seen in our different partnerships throughout the years and most recently with Drive Pinas. Together, we share the goal of encouraging local tourism, featuring the best of what the country has to offer,” said Yasuhisa Masuda, Nissan Philippines Inc. president.
In 2023, Nissan and the DOT renewed their partnership with Drive Pinas, having a common vision of promoting local tourism with the utilization of Nissan's vehicles. Drive Pinas aims to highlight the different destinations and cultures of the country, along with the promotion of more inclusive and sustainable tourism.
