Nissan goes to the extreme with go-anywhere Patrol Dune
Nissan heads to this year's SEMA Show with go-anywhere concepts, including the Patrol Dune

If you need a Nissan to take you anywhere and it has to have plenty of toys, features, and 4x4 gizmos on tap, there is only one vehicle that can do that: the all-new Patrol. With its intelligent 4WD system, various 4WD modes, an electronic locking rear diff, and a suite of smart driver aids, the Y63 Patrol has the means and capability to cover any terrain with ease.
But what if customers want to make doubly sure that their Patrol will not fail them in the wilderness? Well, Nissan decided to do just that by revealing the mighty Patrol Dune. Billed by Nissan as the ultimate, ultra comfortable support vehicle for the most extreme off-road events, the Patrol Dune pays homage to the 4x4's desert racing history and takes it to the next level.

For starters, it has a custom CJD Racing long-travel race suspension, which increases the factory suspension travel up to 16 inches. It also comes with custom-designed 10-inch Bilstein M 9200 coilovers and 10-inch Bilstein M 9200 bypasses. Complementing all that are custom-fabricated upper & lower control arms, 4340 drive axles, tie rods, misalignment spacers, front spindles, trailing arms, extended shock towers for the rear, and extended brake lines.
The Patrol Dune rolls on prototype NISMO Off Road AXIS true beadlock wheels that measure 18 inches in size. The wheels are then wrapped in huge 37-inch Yokohama Geolandar MT G003 tires, which allow the Patrol Dune to go anywhere it pleases.

To make the Patrol Dune look the part, the custom 4x4 gets prototype NISMO Off Road high-clearance bumpers. The front bumper gets 6-inch LED driving lights with amber covers, an integrated skid plate, and front recovery tow shackles. Meanwhile, the rear bumper gets a custom swing-out spare tire carrier, a multi-use accessory mount, and NISMO Off Road 3-inch square LED foglights with amber covers.

Other exterior features present on the Nissan Patrol Dune include customer FiberWerx Prerunner-inspired wide fenders & quarter panels, frame-mounted rock sliders, a custom vehicle wrap, a universal radio antenna, and a low-profile roof rack with NISMO Off Road storage cases & mounts, LED flood lights, and custom rack-mounted MOLLE panels that can hold additional off-road equipment.

For those who plan on dressing up or customizing their Y63 Nissan Patrol, the Patrol Dune could serve as an inspiration. The only question now is, how far do you plan on customizing your pride & joy?
