Next generation Toyota-Lexus GT car shows up at Goodwood 2025
Toyota-Lexus GT prototype has both road-going and GT3 version run in Goodwood

Toyota is really playing a poker game with curious fans and enthusiasts. They like to throw in a few hints, but never truly revealing the cards they’re holding until it’s time.
We know they’re only an official press release away from confirming the GR Celica, but for this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed, Toyota showed the other car they’ve been working on – a high-performance GT car that’s destined to be their new flagship sports car.

For all intents and purposes, this is Toyota flexing the GR GT3 Concept in the metal – featuring very similar elements to the one they showed three years ago. The two camouflaged cars – one road car and one race car, took to the Goodwood hill to get Toyota and Lexus fans excited.
Both GT cars have the long hood design reminiscent of the likes of the Dodge Viper, the Mercedes-Benz AMG GT, and even the Chevrolet Corvette before it became mid-engined. The road car is a bit more conservative without a big spoiler at the back unlike the race car.

For now, it’s unknown whether it will have a Toyota or a Lexus badge. But based on the Goodwood video feed, the noises the two cars are making seem to come from a front mid-mounted turbo V8. This rather suggests that Toyota and Lexus are also not yet done with V8s, despite them announcing a final edition of the IS 500.
Regardless of the badge, however, there’s plenty to be excited about with these GT cars. Hopefully, Toyota rolls them out sooner than later.
