New York 2016 Preview: Mercedes-AMG E43 gets early reveal
Mercedes-Benz to bring the high-performance variant of the all-new E-Class at this year's New York Auto Show

Earlier this year, Mercedes-Benz revealed the all-new E-Class at the 2016 North American International Auto Show. Now, the German automaker is set to debut the high-performance variant of the all-new E-Class during this year’s New York International Auto Show.
Dubbed as the Mercedes-AMG E43, the vehicle is fitted with sweptback headlights, large air intakes, a diamond grill, a long hood and a wide bumper. Turning at the side, the Mercedes-AMG E43 is characterized by distinctive shoulder lines and short overhangs, similar to the regular E-Class.

The rear is equipped with two chrome-plated exhaust pipes, wraparound taillights and a lip spoiler painted in body color. The Mercedes-AMG E43 is finished off with 19-inch high-gloss light-alloy wheels.

Inside, the E43 has a two-tone theme along with red contrast stitching. It has a multifunction flat-bottom steering wheel with touch control, a 12.3-inch digital instrument screen and a gloss black center console. Mercedes-Benz adds that the E43’s front seats feature an improved lateral support.
The Mercedes-AMG E43 is powered by a 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 engine that delivers 402 PS at 6100rpm and 520 Nm of torque at 2500 to 5000rpm. It is mated to a nine-speed automatic transmission. Mercedes-Benz claims that the vehicle can go from 0 to 97 km/h in 4.5 seconds before going on to an electronically limited top speed of 250 km/h.
