New Marilao Bridge offered by NLEX amid repeated incidents
Also NLEX: it's not part of our concession

On June 18, 2025, the Marilao Interchange Bridge along NLEX was struck again by a truck that had exceeded the height limit, that somehow managed to get past the toll company’s security. The Department of Transportation (DOTr) has ordered NLEX Corporation to immediately suspend toll collection on the affected areas until all lanes are passable again.
According to NLEX Corporation, the company will expedite the repair works on the said bridge, and has offered to construct a brand new bridge, even though it was not part of their concession agreement with the government.
This is what NLEX Corporation has to say about the incident:
“NLEX Corporation has begun expedited repair works on the Marilao Overpass Bridge, which was recently struck by an overheight truck.

The Marilao Overpass Bridge is part of the road network of the Province of Bulacan. The bridge was constructed prior to the rehabilitation of the NLEX and presently has a vertical clearance of 4.27 meters in both directions. It is not part of the NLEX Concession; nonetheless, NLEX conducts necessary repairs on the bridge to ensure its structural integrity for the safety of the NLEX motorists.
For the past several years, NLEX has actively sought support from the government for the structural upgrading of the bridge. In the interest of public safety, NLEX offers to construct a new and upgraded bridge to support the plans of the relevant NaKonal and Local Government agencies.”
Expect heavy traffic along the NLEX northbound. Or, better yet, postpone your trips until after the repair of the NLEX Marilao bridge is completed.
