New LTO Candon District Office ready to serve Ilocos Sur motorists
New LTO Candon District Office ready to serve Candon City residents along with 22 other Ilocos Sur towns.

The Department of Transportation recently inaugurated the newly constructed LTO (Land Transportation Office) Candon District Office which aims to expand efficient services to motorists in Ilocos Sur. The
Transportation Secretary Arthur Tugade personally presided over the inauguration of the key facility in Ilocos Sur. The new district office is expected to serve the Candon City residents as well as the towns of Santa, Narvacan, Nagbukel, Sta. Maria, San Esteban, Burgos, Santiago, Lidlidda, Banayoyo, San Emilio, Galimuyod, Salcedo, Gregorio Del Pilar, Quirino, Sta. Lucia, Sta. Cruz, Tagudin, Sigay, Suyo, Cervantes, Alilem, and Sugpon.
Tugade further reminded LTO officials to provide better and more efficient services to the public that reflect the new and modern facility where they will now be working in.
"With the inauguration of new facilities like this and those to follow – cut processing time, no corruption, be punctual and don't be late. If you cannot do good in government service, don't join government service. If you cannot sacrifice for the people, don't join government service," said Tugade.
The newly inaugurated LTO facility is part of a program in 2019 by the Candon City authorities to give its constituents better access to services through a government center along the Bypass Road in Bagani Campo.

The new district office also has attached private businesses offering allied services. For drivers, there is a driving school and medical clinic to facilitate efficient processing of new applications and renewals.

For motor vehicle and motorcycle owners, a modern Motor Vehicle Inspection Center (MVIS) is located within the compound to minimize the need to go from place to place to renew one's vehicle registration.
"We need facilities like these to speed up our recovery because of the pandemic. Again, we acknowledge that such a government project like this new LTO Building with attached services will provide efficient services and new job opportunities that will truly help the local communities,” said Ericson Singson, Candon City Mayor.
