New fleet of taxis in Davao City to accept cashless payments
Starting Dec 1, 2023, 50 units of Mabuhay Taxi in Davao City will accept cashless payments

Davaoeños that need to get around via taxi will soon be able to pay the drivers via cashless means. Starting December 1, 2023, several units of Mabuhay Taxi in Davao City will adopt cashless payment for its customers.
Pierre Ryan Tan, Operations Manager of Mabuhay Taxi, shared that an initial 50 units of the new black taxi will be provided with QR PH or Philippines' QR code standard for electronic payments.

He added that the use of QR codes offers added security and convenience for passengers since they do not have to type the recipient's account information as the transaction will already display the correct account number.
Despite the new feature, Tan said that the flag-down rate of their new units with cashless payment will still be the same at PHP 40.

For those visiting Davao City next month, there's no need to fret in case you forget to bring cash with you while riding a black Mabuhay Taxi. Just check if the taxi you're riding has a QR code that accepts cashless payment.
