Netflix has a biopic series about F1 legend Ayrton Senna
'Senna' is a six-episode series on Netflix about the life of the three-time F1 World Champion

It is a wrap.
The Netflix biographical sports miniseries ‘Senna’ finished filming all of its scenes in various parts of South America - including Argentina, Uruguay, Brazil – and the UK.
‘Senna’ details the life of Brazilian racecar driver Ayrton Senna. He won the Formula 1 World Championship in 1988, 1990, and 1991 while driving for McLaren. Back in 2010, an award-winning documentary about the Brazilian F1 legend was made, but it's the first time a biopic was made for one of Formula One's greatest drivers.
This time, the titular character is played by Brazilian actor Gabriel Leone, who also played the role of Spanish racecar driver Alfonso de Portago in the Michael Mann movie ‘Ferrari’.

Filming started in 2020 but was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The six-episode mini series received approval from Ayrton’s sister Viviane, the mother of ex-F1 driver Bruno Senna. Viewers can choose between English and Brazilian Portuguese languages.
“It is very special to be able to announce that we will tell the story that only a few people know about him. The Senna family is committed to making this project something totally unique and unprecedented. And no one better than Netflix, which has a global reach, to be our partner,” said Viviane Senna, Ayrton’s sister.
There is no definite date of release yet, but expect it on your Netflix app by Q3, or at the latest, Q4 of 2024.
