Nearly 46,000 vehicles booked at 44th Bangkok International Motor Show
Organizer delighted with "successful" result - more than 1.6 million visitors and nearly 46,000 car and motorcycle sales booked

Grand Prix International PCL, organizer of the 44th Bangkok International Motor Show declared their two-week event a success after attracting 1,620,459 visitors to the Impact Challenger Halls in Muang Thong Thani. The exhibiting brands of over 40 global auto and motorcycle marques were also elated with 45,983 units booked during the event.
“With the support of more automotive and motorcycle manufacturers and brands who participated at the show this year helped us give the event a lively atmosphere. In turn, we were able to attract more interest from visitors and sales bookings,” said Mr. Jaturont Komolmis, the Chief Operation Officer of Grand Prix International Public Company Limited, and Vice Chairman of Bangkok International Motor Show.
Organizers have also concluded that the positive result of the show is reflective of the Thai auto industry which is looking to maintain its positive uptrend.

Automobile reservations registered 42,885 units, a 34.45% increase from 31,986 last year. It is worth nothing that 21.1% of this year’s bookings are EVs, a total of 9,234 electric vehicle orders were booked compared to 3,084 units last year; representing a 200% increase. This is driven mostly by attractively-priced EV offerings from Chinese automakers.

Two-wheelers meanwhile registered a 56.7% increase booking a total of 3,098 units; 870 of these were electric motorcycles. The organizer noted that Thai Honda declined to disclose their sales bookings this year, so the actual total should be a bit higher.
“We would like to thank the automobile companies, motorcycle companies, and entrepreneurs in the automotive business that participate in the event showcasing and exhibiting the automotive technology to new innovations, along with investing in building booths and displaying spectacular shows to make the motor show a success,” added Komolmis.
The promised “Colorful Experiences” theme along with over 50 new launches (facelift and new model) at this year’s event, as well as the numerous EVs on display played important roles in influencing customer reservations at this year’s event.

“The success of this year’s motor show is not ours alone but also for our fellow Thai people. It is a success that has come from the support of Thai people who have contributed to promoting both the automotive industry and Thailand to be known that Thai people can do as well as global players. This confirms that we are the number one automobile show in Thailand, the number one in ASEAN, and truly comparable to the world-class automobile shows,” concluded Komolmis.
Organizers have slated next year's event, the 45th Bangkok International Motor Show for March 27 to April 7, 2024, at Impact Challenger 1-3, Muang Thong Thani.
