NAIAX officially goes 80 km/h
The new speed limit on NAIAX will take effect starting January 15, 2025

After some internal confusion over the recognized speed limit, SMC Infrastructure has officially announced that starting January 15, 2025, the speed limit on the NAIA Expressway (NAIAX) will increase from 60 km/h to 80 km/h.
According to San Miguel Corporation (SMC) CEO Ramon S. Ang, the increase in speed limit was done to make travel faster and more efficient. However, Ang did say that the 60 km/h speed limit will still be enforced along the curved sections of the expressway in the name of safety.
SMC will have traffic enforcers with radar guns to monitor speeds and apprehend those who are exceeding the limit. Those who will be caught can either face a hefty fine or confiscation of their driver's license.
With NAIAX officially increasing its speed limit to 80 km/h, motorists are advised to follow the new speed limit along the straight sections and adhere to the 60 km/h on the curved portions.
