MPTC to begin construction of CAVITEX-C5 Link Segment 2

Another segment of the CAVITEX-C5 Link project is set to have its construction works underway.

Cavitex Infrastructure Corporation (CIC), a subsidiary of Metro Pacific Tollways Corporation (MPTC) has partnered with China Road and Bridge Corporation (CRBC) to construct the CAVITEX-C5 Link Segment 2.

The aforementioned segment consists of a 1.9-kilometer, 2x3 lane expressway that will connect CAVITEX R-1 (Coastal Rd.) from Paranaque Toll Plaza to Sucat thru R-1 Interchange. This will form the other end of the CAVITEX-C5 Link project before MPTC connects the Sucat interchange to the Merville toll plaza.

For those who may not know, CRBC was also the contractor responsible for building the Central Luzon Link Expressway (CLLEX) Phase 1 Package 2, the Estrella-Pantaleon and Binondo-Intramuros Bridge.

CIC and CRBC target to start phase 2 of the construction for the CAVITEX C5 Link Segment 2 this Q1 of 2023 and aims to open it to the public before the end of the year. Once finished, CIC says the segment is expected to reduce travel time to Sucat Road from CAVITEX R-1 and vice versa by 10 minutes.
